Il progetto comprende la demolizione e ricostruzione di un edificio rurale in condizioni di degrado talmente elevato da impedirne la conservazione. La ricostruzione è stata eseguita riproponendo il volume dell’edificio preesistente e conservandone i caratteri morfologici, senza alcuna alterazione della continuità delle relazioni tra gli elementi storico-culturali tra cui è inserito. Vengono mantenute le logge che caratterizzavano la facciata, ricalcando le geometrie originali e i caratteri tipologici dell’edificio, tipici dell’architettura rurale locale. La disposizione interna invece è modificata e articola in modo simmetrico quattro monolocali distrubuiti attaverso un vano scala a T. Tutto lo spazio interno è ottimizzato per creare un abitare minimo ma confortevole e l’ingombro del loggiato preesistente viene integrato per realizzare le nuove funzioni. Ne rimane traccia all’esterno, grazie al disegno della facciata, testimoniando come sia possibile realizzare nuove costruzioni in grado di dialogare con la storia dei luoghi e nel contempo fornire un’elevata qualità dell’abitare, declinato in forma contemporanea.

The project involves the demolition and reconstruction of a rural building in such a state of degradation that it cannot be preserved. The reconstruction was carried out by reproposing the volume of the pre-existing building. Its morphological characteristics are preserved without any alteration of the relationships between the historical-cultural elements among which it is inserted. The loggias that characterized the façade are maintained. They keep track of the original geometries and typological characteristics of the building, typical of local rural architecture. The internal layout, however, is modified and symmetrically articulates four studio apartments distributed through a T-shaped stairwell. All the internal space is optimized to create minimal but comfortable residential units while the bulk of the pre-existing loggia is integrated to create the new functions. Traces of it remain on the outside, thanks to the design of the façade: they demonstrate that it is possible to create new buildings in relation with the history of the places, which at the same time provide a high quality of living in a contemporary form.
